What is a Favicon?

A favicon is the little icon like image that appears to the left side of the url when you go a website. Most websites now have great looking favicons. Favicons are also added to the toolbar when you bookmark sites.

How to add it to your website?

There are a lot of sites out there that create favicons for you for free. Heres the one I like
Send me a note if you know of another good one and I will add it to the list. You can import an image and select a part of it or shrink it using these sites. Once done, dowload it to your system and then upload it to the Root directory of your website.

Make sure the file is name is favicon.ico which is what the site will give you when you downlaod it. You may not see it instantly on your website because of caching by the browsers.
